We are seeking one Benefits Assistant to support our client, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in Washington, DC. The successful candidate will support the Office of Human Resources (OHR). This position is part time (3 days a week) and onsite.

The ideal candidates will provide support to the SEC personnel in the following areas including, but not limited to:

  • Provide NEW hires benefits information for FEHB, FEGLI, TSP, FSA, FEDVIP and LTCI.
  • Process elections, qualifying life events and separations/transfers for FEHB, FEGLI and TSP.
  • Certify designation of beneficiary forms.
  • Calculate service computation dates for retirement and TSP.
  • Counsel and provide separating employees their benefit options and appropriate forms.
  • Process Temporary Continuation of Coverage (TCC) enrollments.
  • Research general and complex benefits inquiries.
  • Counsel and provide information pertaining to QLE (birth, marriage, divorce, etc.)
  • Process personnel actions in FPPS for 924 Military Deposits, Name Changes, FEGLI and Retirements.

Skills/Requirements
The successful candidates will possess the following competencies:

  • Ability to review payroll/benefits information in the FPPS platform.
  • Familiar with Employee Express and GRB platform.
  • Masters and 8 years of relevant experience (or Bachelors and 10 years of relevant experience).
